overview | 4-nitrotoluene -2-sulfonic acid self-polycondensation dyes can be divided into dyes with colors ranging from yellow to red according to the degree of polycondensation. among them, the most widely used direct yellow 11 dye is a strong yellow dye, especially suitable for dyeing fibers, leather, etc. |
use | used as an intermediate for stilbene direct dyes this product is a fluorescent whitening agent and a dye intermediate. |
Production method | It is obtained by sulfonation of p-nitrotoluene. The molten p-nitrotoluene is sucked into the glass-lined reaction pot, 980kg of 20% fuming sulfuric acid is added, and the temperature is controlled not to exceed 90 ℃. After adding, raise the temperature to 105-110 ℃ and keep the temperature for 1h. After the reaction is completed, cool to 70°C and dilute with water. Stir for 30min below 100 ℃, cool to 25 ℃, adjust acidity and filter, the filter cake is 2-methyl -5-nitrobenzene sulfonic acid. |
