51307-43-8 - Introduction
It is an organic compound with a chemical formula of C4H6N2OS and a molecular weight of 130.17g/mol. It is a white to pale yellow crystalline solid, soluble in water and alcoholic solvents.
It has antibacterial activity and is often used as an intermediate for the synthesis of organic functional molecules. It also has certain applications in the preparation of aluminum-lithium materials and heterocyclic calcium salts of thiosulfuric acid.
There are two main methods of preparation. One is through the reaction of thiosulfate and acetaldehyde, through condensation and dehydration to produce the target product. The other is through the dimethyl thionamide and tert-butyl alcohol condensation reaction, and then through the heterocyclic generation of the target product.
With regard to safety information, there are few studies on toxicity and safety. However, as an organic compound, care should be taken to prevent inhalation, skin contact and ingestion. During operation, appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn to ensure good ventilation. In case of accidental contact or accidental ingestion, wash or seek medical treatment immediately.
