1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-3-ylmethanol(1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-3-ylmethanol), also known as 3-hydroxymethyl-8-epoxyquinoline ([3.2.1]octane), is an organic compound.

-Drug synthesis intermediate: It can be used to synthesize drugs with a ring structure of three carbon atoms, such as Israel ring, tetracycline, quinine and atropine.
-Pesticide synthesis: It can be used to synthesize certain pesticides and fungicides.
-Photoinitiator: It can be used as a photoinitiator for polymerization and photocuring.
1-azabicyclo[2.2.2] The preparation of oct-3-ylmethanol is usually carried out by the following steps:
1. The methyl dehydrogenated alcohol is reacted with sodium hydroxide at low temperature to obtain the corresponding olefin.
2. Olefins are reacted with peroxides similar to hydrogen peroxide or peroxide to generate epoxy compounds.
3. Epoxy compounds react with sodium bisulfite or potassium bisulfite to open the ring to generate the corresponding alcohols.
