Preparation Method:
2-Bromo-3-methylbenzoic acid can be prepared by the following steps:
1. Dissolve 2-methyl benzoic acid in acetic acid.
2. slowly drop cuprous bromide solution.
3. Continue to stir the reaction mixture until the solution turns yellow.
4. Cool the reaction mixture and collect the precipitate.
5. The precipitate is filtered and dried to give 2-Bromo-3-methylbenzoic acid.
