57653-35-7 - Introduction
N-Cbz-cis-L-hydroxyproline methyl ester is an organic compound which is a methyl-esterylated derivative of L-hydroxyproline with the formula C17H20N2O5.
N-Cbz-cis-L-hydroxyproline methyl ester has the following properties:
-Appearance: White crystalline solid
-Melting point: about 110 - 115°C
-Solubility: Soluble in common organic solvents, such as dichloromethane, ethanol, etc.
-Stability: relatively stable at room temperature, but avoid moisture and exposure to light
N-Cbz-cis-L-hydroxyproline methyl ester has important applications in organic synthesis:
-As a protecting group: By introducing a N-Cbz protecting group on the hydroxyl group of L-hydroxyproline, it can prevent unnecessary reactions during the synthesis process, thereby realizing the selective modification of amino acids.
-Synthesis of amino acid derivatives: As an intermediate, N-Cbz-cis-L-hydroxyproline methyl ester can be used to construct other complex organic molecules, such as polypeptides, drugs, etc.
The preparation method of N-Cbz-cis-L-hydroxyproline methyl ester mainly includes the following steps:
1. L-hydroxyproline is reacted with formic anhydride to generate hydroxyproline methyl ester.
2. react hydroxyproline methyl ester with N-Cbz electrophilic reagent (such as N-chlorosulfonimide) to introduce N-Cbz protecting group to obtain N-Cbz-cis-L-hydroxyproline methyl ester.
When using N-Cbz-cis-L-hydroxyproline methyl ester, the following safety information should be noted:
-Wear appropriate protective equipment such as lab gloves and goggles when performing experiments.
-Avoid inhaling the dust or solution of the compound, and operate under well-ventilated laboratory conditions.
