59524-02-6 - Introduction
Boc-Ser-OBzl (Boc-Ser-OBzl) is an organic compound commonly used in organic synthesis.
Its main properties include:
-Chemical formula: C14H21NO6
-Molecular weight: 299.32g/mol
-Appearance: Colorless or white solid powder
-Melting point: approximately 70-80°C
The main use of Boc-Ser-OBzl is as a protecting group (protecting group) in the chemical synthesis of amino acids. It protects the activity of amino acids in chemical reactions by introducing specific functional groups into amino acid molecules. When a polypeptide or protein is synthesized, the leucine (Ser) group is protected from inadvertent alteration or destruction by the introduction of a Boc-Ser-OBzl.
As the method for producing a Boc-Ser-OBzl, a method for synthesizing an amino acid is generally used. First, L-serine is reacted with tert-butylcarbonyl chloride to produce Boc-serine (Boc-Ser). The Boc-Ser is then reacted with benzyl alcohol to give the final product Boc-Ser-OBzl.
With regard to safety information, there are Boc-Ser-OBzl few reports of toxicity and danger. However, as a chemical, it is still necessary to follow laboratory safety procedures and avoid exposure to skin, eyes or inhalation. Wear protective gloves, goggles and protective mask when using. For storage and handling, it needs to be kept in a closed, dry container. If any discomfort or accident occurs, seek medical attention immediately and provide relevant compound information to the doctor.
