Use:
- TBDMS-THF is widely used in protecting group reactions in organic synthesis, and is often used as a protecting agent for hydroxyl groups.
-It can react with sodium hydroxide to generate an active alkaline reagent, which is then used for acylation, amidation and other reactions.
-It can also be used for the synthesis of pyran derivatives, etherification reactions, amination reactions, etc.
Preparation Method:
The common method for preparing TBDMS-THF is to react pyran with tert-butyl dimethyl chlorosilane under alkaline conditions. After completion of the reaction, the product was obtained by distillation.
