(S)-tert-Butanethiosulfinate ((S)-tert-Butanethiosulfinate) is an organic compound. Its chemical formula is (CH3)3CS(O)S = CH(CH3) and its molecular weight is 178.3g/mol. The following is a description of its nature, use, preparation and safety information:
Nature:
-Appearance: Colorless liquid or white solid.
-Melting Point: 27-31 ℃.
-Boiling point: 95-97 ℃.
-Solubility: Soluble in methanol and carbon disulfide, slightly soluble in ethanol, almost insoluble in water.
Use:
- (S)-tert-Butanethiosulfinate is a chiral reagent, often used as a catalyst or reagent in organic synthesis.
-It can be used to synthesize chiral thioenols, chiral carbon disulfide, chiral sulfonyl tert-butyl and chiral thionyl oxide tert-butyric acid and other compounds.
Method:
-Generally, reaction (CH3)3CSCl and KSCN are reacted in an organic solvent to obtain (S)-(-)-tert-butyl sulfinate tert-butyl ester, sulfonation reaction is then carried out under acidic conditions to obtain (S)-tert-Butanethiosulfinate.
Safety Information:
- (S)-tert-Butanethiosulfinate may be irritating to the eyes, skin and respiratory system. Use should wear protective equipment, and ensure good ventilation.
-If inhaled or exposed to (S)-tert-Butanethiosulfinate, please move to a ventilated place immediately, clean the affected area, and seek medical help.
-Avoid reaction with oxidants and acids during storage and use to prevent danger.
-Please refer to the safety data sheet provided by the manufacturer for detailed safety information.
