68682-02-0 - Introduction
(/-)-8-PRENYLNARINGENIN is a natural product that belongs to the class of flavonoids. Its chemical structure is 3,4 ',5,7-tetrahydroxyflavone, in which the hydroxyl groups at the 3 and 8 positions on the rutin skeleton are replaced by a coumarin acid lipid defined by the vein.
Nature:
( /-)-8-PRENYLNARINGENIN is a white crystalline solid, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and dimethyl sulfite at room temperature, and has a strong bitter taste.
Use:
( /-)-8-PRENYLNARINGENIN, as an active ingredient, is present in many plants, especially in hops (Humulus lupulus). It is one of the main sources of antibacterial and antioxidant activity of hops. In addition, it is also believed to have anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor and estrogen-like activities.
Preparation Method:
( /-)-8-PRENYLNARINGENIN can be obtained by extraction and purification from valerian (Humulus lupulus) or by chemical synthesis. Methods of chemical synthesis include synthesis of the flavone backbone and corresponding functional group protection and deprotection reactions, and vinylation reactions to introduce side chains.
Safety Information:
There are few studies on the safety of (/-)-8-PRENYLNARINGENIN. Attention should be paid to its proper operation in laboratory and industrial production, and to compliance with safety regulations for the handling and storage of relevant chemicals. When using or handling (/-)-8-PRENYLNARINGENIN, wear appropriate personal protective equipment to avoid inhalation and contact with skin and eyes. If the trigger is believed to be present, appropriate first aid measures should be taken and a professional should be consulted.
