7343-34-2 - Introduction
3,5-Dimethy1-4H-1, 2,4-triazole is an organic compound with the chemical formula C5H8N2 and a molecular weight of 96.13g/mol. It is a colorless crystalline solid, stable at room temperature.
3,5-Dimethyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole has many uses. First of all, it is an important intermediate, widely used in the synthesis of other organic compounds, such as pesticides, veterinary drugs, dyes, amines and so on. Secondly, it also has antifungal and antitumor activity and is used in the medical field as a starting point for active compound and pharmaceutical research.
3,5-Dimethyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole can be prepared by two main methods. One is by dehydrogenation of methyl chloroformate to 3,5-Dimethy1-4H-1, 2,4-triazole. The other is prepared by reacting trimethyl-1, 2,4-triazolylbenzene hydrochloride with ketones.
Regarding safety information, 3,5-dimethyl-4H-1, 2,4-triazole is generally relatively safe when used and stored under appropriate conditions. However, it can cause irritation and damage to the eyes, skin, respiratory system and digestive system. Therefore, pay attention to avoid contact with skin and eyes during use, and ensure good ventilation conditions. At the same time, it should also be away from high temperature, fire sources and oxidants to avoid fire or explosion. Appropriate personal protective measures should be taken during operation, such as wearing protective glasses and gloves. If accidental contact or inhalation occurs, seek medical attention immediately.
