77311-06-9 - Introduction
oxazole is a nitrogen-containing five-membered ring compound with the chemical formula C3H3NO. 5-Butyloxazole (5-butyl-oxazole) is a substituted derivative of oxazole with the chemical formula C8H11NO.
The following are the properties of 5-n-butyloxazole:
-Appearance: Colorless liquid or crystalline solid
-Melting point: About 30-35 degrees Celsius
-Boiling point: About 234 degrees Celsius
-Density: approx. 0.976g/cm³
-Solubility: Soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and dimethylformamide
The use of 5-n-butyl oxazole:
-As an important intermediate in organic synthesis, it can be used to synthesize compounds such as drugs, pesticides and dyes
-In the field of polymer materials, it can be used as a monomer or dopant for polymers
Preparation of 5-n-butyl oxazole:
5-n-Butyloxazole can usually be synthesized by the following steps:
1. React 2-valeraldehyde with hypocyanic acid ester to generate 2-carboxy valeronitrile.
2. Under alkaline conditions, the Van der Waals coherence reaction of 2-carboxy valeronitrile occurs to generate 5-oxazolyl valeronitrile.
3.5-oxazolyl pentanenitrile is reacted with appropriate alkyl bromide or alkyl chloride, and hydrolyzed in alkaline solution to generate 5-n-butyl oxazole.
No individual toxicity and risk information is reported regarding the safety of 5-n-butyloxazole. However, as a chemical, pay attention to the following safety measures:
-Follow Good Laboratory Practices (Gloves, Goggles, Lab coat, etc.)
-Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes, wear protective gloves and goggles when using
-Ensure that the operation is carried out in a well-ventilated place
-Keep the container sealed when stored, away from fire and high temperature
-In the event of an accident, seek medical help immediately and consult a professional body for advice on handling
