83832-44-4 - Introduction
(5)-acetic acid ethyl ester is an organic compound, also known as (5, acetic)-ethyl acetate. Its chemical formula is C9H14O3.
Nature:
(5, ID)-acetic acethyl ester is a colorless liquid with a fruity aroma. It has a low boiling point and flash point and is soluble in common organic solvents such as ethanol and ether.
Use:
The compound is often used as a solvent or an intermediate in organic synthesis. It can be used in the preparation of chemicals such as pharmaceuticals, fragrances, dyes and pesticides. At the same time, it can also be used in the preparation of coatings, glues and plastic additives.
Method:
(5, ID)-acetic acethyl ester is usually prepared by esterification reaction. First, 3,4-dihydro-2h-pyran was catalytically reacted with acetic acid and sulfuric acid to become (5,4-dihydro)-acetic acid. Then, the target product (5)-acetic acid ethyl ester is generated by reaction with alcohol.
Safety Information:
The compound should avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. It should be used and stored in a well-ventilated place and away from fire and high temperature. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and goggles during use. If accidentally splashed into the eyes or skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical help. During storage, it should be kept away from oxidizing agents and strong acids and bases.
