84965-36-6 - Introduction
Butanal-d8 (also known as Butanal-d8) is a deuterated butyraldehyde in which a deuterium atom replaces a hydrogen atom. Its chemical formula is C4D8O.
Properties: Butanal-d8 is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor similar to butyraldehyde. It has a lower boiling point and higher melting point, higher density.
Purpose: Butanal-d8 are mainly used as solvents and internal standard substances in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy studies. It can be used to determine the structure, purity and reaction kinetics of organic compounds.
Preparation method: Butanal-d8 can be prepared by deuteration reaction. A common preparation method is to react the Butanal (butyraldehyde) with the higher D2O, and then separate the Butanal-d8 by distillation.
Safety information: The toxicity of Butanal-d8 is low, but it still needs to be handled carefully. During use, contact with skin and eyes should be avoided, and a well-ventilated laboratory environment should be maintained. For accidental contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water. At the same time, the Butanal-d8 should be stored and handled correctly to avoid exposure to dangerous conditions such as high temperature and open flame.
