85342-65-0 - Introduction
4,5,6, 3-dione(4,5,6, 3-dione), also known as Oxidized Oxyindigo, is an organic compound. Its chemical formula is C8H2Cl4O3.
The compound has a dark purple crystalline form, is soluble in alcohols and ketones, and is insoluble in water. It has strong oxidation and can react with many substances.
4,5,6, 3-dione is mainly used in the dye industry to synthesize pigments and dyes intermediates. It can be used to produce blue dyes and for dyeing textiles, paints and plastics.
The method of preparing 4,5,6, 3-dione is mainly to dissolve dichlorobenzene in the presence of sulfuric acid, and then add potassium permanganate for oxidation reaction to obtain 4,5,6, and 3-dione.
Although specific safety information may vary by manufacturer and method of disposal, this compound is a sulfite type of organic acid, which is corrosive and irritating. During use, care should be taken to avoid direct contact with skin, eyes and respiratory tract. At the same time, should follow the relevant safety procedures, such as wearing protective gloves, goggles and respiratory protection equipment. During handling and transportation, care should be taken to avoid mixed contact with strong oxidants and combustible materials to avoid fire or explosion.
