874-17-9 - Introduction
4-Chloro-2,6-dibromoaniline is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H3Br2ClN. Its appearance is white to yellow crystals.
Nature:
4-Chloro-2,6-dibromoaniline has a strong odor. It has a melting point of about 110-112°C and a boiling point of about 340°C. The compound is sparingly soluble in water and soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, chloroform and dichloromethane.
Use:
4-Chloro-2,6-dibromoaniline has a wide range of applications in organic synthesis. It is often used as a starting material for the synthesis of dyes, fluorescent dyes, and photosensitizers. In addition, it can also be used as a catalyst or intermediate in organic synthesis reactions, such as nitration, chlorination or bromination reactions.
Preparation Method:
4-Chloro-2,6-dibromoaniline can be prepared by nitration of bromobenzene followed by reaction with chloroacetic acid. First, a nitration reaction is carried out with nitric acid and sulfuric acid under an acidic condition to prepare 2,6-dibromonitrobenzene. Reduction and electrophilic substitution with chloroacetic acid then give 4-Chloro-2,6-dibromoaniline.
Safety Information:
4-Chloro-2,6-dibromoaniline has certain toxicity, please pay attention to correct operation and storage. Avoid contact with skin and eyes during use, and maintain good ventilation conditions. In case of accidental exposure or contact, seek medical help immediately.
