Source | Zanthoxylum bungeanum belongs to linear furan coumarin, and the substituent group at the fifth site is hydroxyl. Among the plant resources of traditional Chinese medicine, Zanthoxylum bungeanum is found in Umbelliferae, Rutaceae, Moraceae, Acanthaceae and Rhamnaceae. Umbelliferae and Rutaceae are the most common. Researchers generally extract natural pepper toxols from Umbelliferae plants. In the "Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China", there are 8 kinds of Umbelliferae Chinese medicines in the 17 kinds of Umbelliferae family, including Cnidium Cnidium, Qianghuo, Mingdangshen root, Angelica dahurica, Ginseng, Fangfeng, Peucedanum, Baiyun flower root. Other Rutaceae traditional Chinese medicines, Fructus Aurantii, Fructus Aurantii, Coriander, Zanthoxylum bungeanum, Yellow skin, Rhamnaceae iron fence fruit and Andrographis paniculata of Acanthaceae all have Zanthoxylum bungeanum. The medicinal properties of traditional Chinese medicines in Umbelliferae and Rutaceae are mostly bitter and pungent, which also suggests that Zanthoxylum bungeanum may be an important factor in "bitter and pungent taste.
