NSA(NonenylsuccinicAnhydride) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C15H20O3. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with low volatility and a molecular weight of 248.32g/mol.
NSA has the following properties:
-insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether and benzene;
-slow oxidation in the air;
-Has a pungent odor.
NSA uses:
-As a plastic modifier, it can increase the acid and heat resistance of the plastic;
-for synthetic rubber, resin and paint;
-As an antioxidant, it can extend the service life of certain materials.
NSA Preparation Method:
NSA can be prepared by the following steps:
1.3-vinyl furan -2, 5-dione and fenoic acid (nonenic acid) are reacted in an appropriate solvent to generate NSA.
