934183-50-3 - Introduction
Fmoc-Met-OH-15N (Fmoc-Met-OH-15N) is a specifically labeled methionine compound with the following properties:
1. Appearance: white solid.
2. Molecular formula: C24H21N3O4S15N.
3. Molecular weight: 642.78g/mol.
4. Solubility: soluble in common organic solvents, such as dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and dichloromethane.
Fmoc-Met-OH-15N is mainly used in the process of peptide synthesis and polypeptide synthesis in protein chemical synthesis. It is commonly used as a starting material for solid phase synthesis to synthesize polypeptides or proteins having methionine residues. In addition, Fmoc-Met-OH-15N can also be used in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) labeling experiments for the study of protein structure and dynamics.
The common method of preparing Fmoc-Met-OH-15N is through multi-step reactions in organic synthetic chemistry. Usually starting from labeled 15N benzoic acid (15N-Benzoyl chloride) or labeled 15N-Methyl-4-nitrobenzoic acid (15N-Methyl-4-nitrobenzoic acid), using hydroxamic acid (Hydroxylamine) or hydroxy-9-fluorenylcarboxylic acid (hydroxy-9-fluorenylcarboxylic acid) to react to obtain Fmoc-compound, and then with Methionine (Methionine) to react, and finally to obtain Fmoc-Met-OH-15N.
When experimenting with Fmoc-Met-OH-15N, note the following safety information:
1. Fmoc-Met-OH-15N are chemicals and should be operated in a well-ventilated laboratory.
2. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and respiratory tract, avoid inhaling dust or gas.
3. During operation, personal protective equipment should be worn, such as lab gloves, lab glasses and laboratory clothing.
4. Follow proper laboratory procedures for proper handling and disposal of experimental waste.
