Method:
- 4-[[(1,1-dimethylethyl)dimethylsilyl]oxy]-1-[2-(phenylmethoxy)ethyl]Cyclohexanecarboxaldehyde can be synthesized by reacting 1-cyclopentene-1-ol with benzyl copper bromide to obtain 1-(benzyloxyethyl)-1-cyclopentene, this is then reacted with tert-butyldimethylsilanol in the presence of boric acid to give 1-(2-benzyloxyethyl)-1-cyclopentyltrimethicone, which is finally converted to 4-[[(1,1-dimethylethyl)dimethylsilyl]oxy]-1-[2-(phenylmethoxy)ethyl]Cyclohexanecarboxaldehyde by oxidation.
