chemical properties |
Hexamethyldisilazane, the English abbreviation HMDS, is an important organosilicon compound, colorless and transparent liquid. Easy to hydrolyze, release NH3, generate hexamethyldisilyl ether. In the presence of a catalyst, it reacts with alcohol or phenol to produce trimethylalkoxysilane or trimethylaryloxy silane. Reacts with anhydrous hydrogen chloride to release NH3 or NH4Cl to produce trimethylchlorosilane. |
chemical properties | colorless, transparent and easy-to-flow liquid. Boiling point 125 ℃, relative density 0.76(20/4 ℃). Dissolved in an organic solvent, it will be quickly hydrolyzed to form trimethylsilanol and hexamethyldisilyl ether in contact with air. Flash point -1 ℃. |

In organosilazane chemistry, hexamethyldisilazane can be used for chlorine exchange with chlorosilane monomers to obtain polysilazane. This method has great advantages over direct ammonia method in synthesis.
It is a medicinal intermediate of amikacin, a hydroxyl and amino protective agent
Silanizing reagent, which can be used in the production of cesidocanamycin.
Used in the production of rubber and drugs. This product is a tail-reducing agent that reduces the adsorption activity on the surface of the gas chromatography carrier. Silanizing reagent, which can be used in the production of cesidokanamycin. Hexamethyldisilazane is a medicinal intermediate of amikacin, which is a hydroxyl and amino protective agent; special organic synthesis. Silylation in the synthesis of amikacin, penicillin, cephalosporin, fluorouracil and various penicillin derivatives. Surface treatment of diatomite, white carbon black, titanium and other powders. Bonding aid for photoresist in semiconductor industry. It is a medicinal intermediate of amikacin, which is a hydroxyl and amino protective agent
Basic silanized protective agent, inorganic filler treatment agent
production method
dissolve 109g(1.0mol) trimethylchlorosilane in 500ml of anhydrous ether, introduce ammonia gas, and immediately appear white precipitate. Heat to reflux, slowly pass ammonia for 6 hours, settle and filter ammonium chloride, take ether solution to evaporate ether first, then evaporate hexamethyldisilane to obtain 52.5g with 65% yield.
