A-N-HEXYLANILINE - Introduction
4-n-Hexylaniline, also known as 4-n-Hexylaniline, is an organic compound. Its chemical formula is C12H19N, and there is a hexyl substituent on the benzene ring in the structure.
Nature:
-Appearance: colorless liquid or white crystal
-Solubility: Soluble in organic solvents such as alcohol, ether and aromatic hydrocarbons, insoluble in water
-Boiling point: About 334 to 336 degrees Celsius
-Melting point: about 42 degrees Celsius
-Density: About 0.89 g/mL
Use:
- 4-n-Hexylaniline is mainly used as an intermediate in dyes and pigments, and is used in the dyeing, pigment and coating industries.
-It can also be used in the production of rubber and plastics, as an intermediate for chemical preparations such as antioxidants and flame retardants.
Method:
The preparation of 4-n-Hexylaniline usually uses a step-wise synthesis method. First, hexyl chloride is obtained by reacting hexanol as a six-carbon raw material with hydrochloric acid. The hexyl chloride is then subjected to a condensation reaction with aniline in the presence of an aluminum chloride catalyst to give 4-n-Hexylaniline.
Safety Information:
- 4-n-Hexylaniline has low toxicity, but it is still necessary to pay attention to safe operation.
-Wear appropriate protective gloves and eye protection during use.
-Avoid inhaling its gas or solution, and avoid contact with skin.
-Keep away from ignition sources and open flames during storage and use.
-In case of skin contact, inhalation or ingestion, seek immediate medical assistance and show the package or label to the doctor.
