It is obtained by the reaction of caproic acid and ammonia. Heat caproic acid to 170-180 ℃, react with ammonia for about 5h, then distill and separate the unreacted caproic acid, and recrystallize the residue with benzene to obtain caproamide with a yield of 70-80%.
