Boc-DL-Asp - Introduction
Boc-DL-aspartic acid is an organic compound whose chemical formula is C11H17NO6.
Properties: Boc-DL-aspartic acid is a colorless crystalline solid, soluble in some organic solvents such as ethanol and dimethylformamide. This compound is an amino acid derivative having a 1-tert-butoxycarbonyl protecting group (Boc protecting group) at the carboxyl group of aspartic acid. This protecting group can temporarily protect the carboxyl group of aspartic acid during the chemical reaction.
Purpose: Boc-DL-aspartic acid is often used as an intermediate compound in organic synthesis. It can be used in the synthesis of peptides, drugs and other organic compounds. Because its Boc protecting group can be easily removed when needed, Boc-DL-aspartic acid has a wide range of applications in chemical synthesis.
Preparation method: Boc-DL-aspartic acid can be prepared by reacting DL-aspartic acid with 1-tert-butoxycarbonyl isocyanate (Boc-OSu). The reaction is usually carried out in an organic solvent such as dimethylformamide. By appropriate purification steps, a product of higher purity can be obtained.
Safety Information: When using Boc-DL-aspartic acid, care should be taken to avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. Appropriate protective measures should be taken during the experiment, and protective glasses, gloves and laboratory coats should be worn. Avoid inhaling dusts or solutions of the compound. Care should be taken to avoid contact with acidic substances and oxidants during handling and storage.
