Application | bromocyclohexane is a hydrocarbon compound, which can be used as an important organic synthesis intermediate and solvent, and can be used to synthesize photoinitiators, grignard reagent, cyclooxygenase inhibitor, but also can be used as a chain transfer agent of the external heavy atom micro-blocking agent and alkylating agent. |
preparation | add 0.1mol of potassium bromide and a certain amount of cyclohexanol, deionized water to a ground-necked flask with a reflux condenser, heating was performed on a magnetic heating stirrer, and concentrated sulfuric acid was slowly added dropwise under stirring, and the addition was completed for 20min. After Reflux reaction for a certain period of time, stop heating, Add 30ml of water from the condenser tube, dissolve all the salt generated in the reaction bottle in water, and pour the material in the reaction bottle into the separating funnel for liquid separation, the organic phase was washed with saturated sodium bicarbonate solution and then washed with water until neutral to obtain a crude product, which was analyzed by gas chromatography without any by-products. The crude product was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, the fractions from 166 °c to 167 °c were collected to give a pale yellow liquid product, bromocyclohexane. |
Use | organic synthesis intermediates. used in organic synthesis used as intermediate in organic synthesis |
production method | obtained by the reaction of cycloethanol with bromic hydrogen acid: cycloethanol and 48% hydrobromic acid were heated and refluxed for 6H. A small amount of water was added to the reaction mixture, and the lower organic phase was separated and dried with anhydrous calcium chloride. Distillation, the 163-165 °c fraction was collected as the finished product. Yield 74%. Purposes: intermediates in organic synthesis. |
