CH3(CH2)2Si(CH3)2OCH3 - Introduction
Dimethylmethoxy-N-Propylsilane, also known as DMPO(dimethoxy(methyl)(proxy) silane), is an organic silicon compound. Its chemical formula is CH3O(CH3) 2SICH2CH2CH3.
DMPO is a colorless liquid, volatile and flammable. It is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, methanol and dichloromethane. It has low surface tension and excellent wetting properties, and can be used as additives in medicine, coatings, adhesives, surfactants and other fields.
The preparation method of DMPO is generally obtained by reacting the silane monomer dichloromethyl methoxy silane with methanol and a base. It can also be synthesized by other methods, such as the reaction of chlorosilanes with Betaine or the reaction of ethanol with chlorosilanes catalyzed by a catalyst, etc.
When using DMPO, you need to pay attention to the following safety information: It is a flammable liquid and should be stored in a cool and dry place, and away from fire sources, avoid exposure to high temperature and open fire. Wear fully protective personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety goggles and protective clothing. In case of contact with skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If inhaled by accident, the patient should be quickly transferred to fresh air. Avoid contact with oxidants, strong acids, strong bases and other substances during use and storage.
