overview | dimethyl phthalate (DMP) is a plasticizer with strong dissolving power to various resins and is compatible with various cellulose resins, rubber and vinyl resins. It has good film-forming property, adhesion and water resistance. It is usually used in combination with diethyl phthalate in the production of cellulose acetate films, varnishes, transparent paper and molding powder. A small amount is used in the production of nitrocellulose. |
mosquito repellent ester | dimethyl phthalate, also known as mosquito repellent ester and imenin, is a broad-spectrum and efficient insect repellent. It is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid and is an effective mosquito repellent ingredient in toilet water, it has a good repellent effect on flies, lice, ants, mosquitoes, cockroaches, midges, gadflies, flat fleas, sand fleas, sand midges, sandflies, cicadas, etc.; its repellent effect is long and can be used in different climates. Its chemical properties are stable under the conditions of use, and at the same time it has high thermal stability and high sweat resistance. It has good compatibility with commonly used cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. It can be made into solutions, emulsions, ointments, coatings, jelly, aerosols, mosquito coils, microcapsules and other special repellent agents. It can also be added to other products or materials (such as toilet water) to make it both repellent. Compared with standard mosquito repellent mosquito repellent, it has the remarkable characteristics of lower toxicity, less irritation and longer repellent time. It is a replacement product of mosquito repellent. |
toxicity | dimethyl phthalate has the advantages of non-toxic side effects, non-allergic and non-skin permeability on skin and mucous membranes. it is very safe to use. it should be noted that if people with sensitive skin excessively absorb mosquito repellent ester components, allergic reactions may occur in skin. |
use | used as plasticizer for cellulose acetate, mosquito repellent and solvent for polyfluoroethylene coating dimethyl phthalate is an intermediate of rodenticide diphtherone, rodent and chlorrosterone, and is also an important solvent. this product is a plasticizer with strong dissolving power to various resins, and can be compatible with various cellulose resins, rubber and vinyl resins. It has good film-forming property, adhesion and water resistance. It is usually used in combination with diethyl phthalate in the production of cellulose acetate films, varnishes, transparent paper and molding powder. A small amount is used in the production of nitrocellulose. The product can also be used as a plasticizer for nitrile rubber, and the product has good cold resistance. Mixed with other plasticizers. It can overcome shortcomings such as large volatility and low temperature crystallization. The product can also be used as a solvent for mosquito repellent oil (crude oil) and DDT. The product is also used as a gas chromatography stationary liquid. when producing cellulose esters, polyvinyl acetate, resin and coupe resin, it can also be used as plasticizer. It can also be used as waterproofing agent; It is used for flotation of polymetallic ore toughening agent, high boiling point solvent, plasticizer, gas chromatography stationary liquid (maximum service temperature 122 ℃, solvent is ether), separation and analysis of hydrocarbons and esters. |
production method | phthalic anhydride and excess (4 times) methanol are esterified at normal pressure, and excess methanol is refluxed with water to obtain DMP. 600kg phthalic anhydride, 450kg90-95 ℃ methanol and 1050ml concentrated sulfuric acid were successively put into the reaction pot and heated and refluxed for 24 hours. After the reaction, the methanol is recovered, then neutralized with sodium carbonate, washed with water, and then distilled to obtain the finished product. The purity of dimethyl phthalate, an industrial first-class product, is ≥ 99%. Raw material consumption quota: phthalic anhydride 750kg/t, methanol 445kg/t. The preparation method is to use phthalic anhydride and methanol for esterification reaction, the reaction temperature is the reflux temperature, the reaction is about ten hours, the obtained crude ester is neutralized, washed, and distilled to obtain the product. |
