Use | acid-base indicator, color change range pH8.2 (colorless)-9.8 (red). used as acid-base indicator |
production method | is obtained by condensation of phthalic anhydride with O-toluene. Phthalic anhydride and O-cresol were mixed and heated to melt, anhydrous zinc chloride was added at 110 °c, and the reaction was stirred at 110-115 °c for 12-18H, and steam was introduced to drive out the remaining O-cresol. The resulting crude sodium hydroxide solution was dissolved and filtered. The filtrate was neutralized with dilute hydrochloric acid to obtain white crystals as the finished product. |
