Dichlordiethoxysilan - Introduction
Diethoxydichlorosilane(Diethoxydichlorosilane) is an organosilicon compound having the formula Cl2Si(OEt)2, where Et represents an ethoxy group (-OEt). It is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor at room temperature.
Diethoxydichlorosilane are mainly used as intermediates in the synthesis of organosilicon compounds. It can be used to prepare other organosilicon compounds, such as silicon ethers, silicon esters, and silica gels. Because of its hydrophobicity and silicophilicity, it is also commonly used as a surfactant, wetting agent, and additive for water-resistant coatings.
The preparation method of the Diethoxydichlorosilane includes reacting silicon chloride and ethanol. The reaction is generally carried out under an inert atmosphere and usually requires the use of a drying agent to remove moisture.
When using the Diethoxydichlorosilane, you need to pay attention to its safety. It is irritating to the skin, eyes and respiratory tract and direct contact should be avoided. Operate in a well-ventilated area and wear appropriate protective equipment such as chemical goggles, gloves and protective clothing. When stored, it should be kept in a sealed container, away from fire and oxidizing agents.
