Ethyl-oxo-2-thiopheneacetate - Preparation
Suspend 9.77gAlCl3 in 50ml of dichloromethane and then drop 5g of ethyl oxalyl chloride (ethylchlorooxoacetate) at -20°C and nitrogen. Then 6.09 g2-thiophene was added dropwise at -20 ℃ and stirred. After stirring for 1h, the reaction mixture was poured into ice-water and the compound 2-thiophenyl ethyl acetate was extracted using ethyl acetate. The product was purified by column chromatography.
