FMOC-BETA-HOPHE(4-TBU)-OH - Introduction
Fmoc-(S)-3-Amino-4-(4-tert-butyl-phenyl)-butyric is an organic compound commonly used in peptide synthesis in solid-phase synthesis.
Nature:
Fmoc-(S)-3-Amino-4-(4-tert-butyl-phenyl)-butyric acid is a white or off-white crystalline solid. Its chemical formula is C24H27NO2 and its relative molecular mass is 369.47g/mol. It is insoluble in water at normal temperature, but soluble in organic solvents such as dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and methylene chloride. Its melting point is 79-81°C.
Use:
Fmoc-(S)-3-Amino-4-(4-tert-butyl-phenyl)-butyric acid is mainly used for solid phase synthesis in peptide chemistry. It is often used as a raw material for protecting amino group (Fmoc). In the process of peptide synthesis, Fmoc-(S)-3-Amino-4-(4-tert-butyl-phenyl)-butyric acid is condensed with other amino acids to construct the target peptide chain.
Preparation Method:
The preparation of Fmoc-(S)-3-Amino-4-(4-tert-butyl-phenyl)-butyric acid usually starts from the carbonation of p-tert-butylbenzaldehyde, followed by condensation reaction with (S)-α-phenylpyruvate, and finally produces the target product.
Safety Information:
Fmoc-(S)-3-Amino-4-(4-tert-butyl-phenyl)-butyric acid has good safety, but it still needs to be operated with caution. Avoid inhalation, ingestion or skin contact during use. Wear protective gloves and glasses if necessary. When handling chemicals, it is recommended to do so in a well-ventilated area and to observe the relevant laboratory safety procedures.
