Fmoc-S-Methyl-L-cysteine is an organic compound with some of the following properties:

The use of Fmoc-S-methyl-L-cysteine is mainly used as a protecting group in the synthesis of peptides and proteins. It can form peptide bonds with other amino acid residues through polycondensation reaction. It can also be used for drug design and development in biochemical research.
The preparation of Fmoc-S-methyl-L-cysteine can be carried out by the following steps:
