H-AOC(2)-OH - Introduction
DL-Alpha-Aminocaprylic acid(DL-Alpha-Aminocaprylic acid) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C8H17NO2.
DL-Alpha-Aminocaprylic acid is a colorless crystal, soluble in water. It has two active functional groups, Amino and carboxyl, so it has acid and alkaline properties. It is a facultative amino acid with acidic and alkaline characteristics.
DL-Alpha-Aminocaprylic acid has many applications in the field of biomedicine. It is an important intermediate in the synthesis of drugs for the preparation of organic compounds with anti-biological activity. In addition, it can also be used in protein modification, enzyme engineering and enzyme protein analysis.
The DL-Alpha-Aminocaprylic acid can be produced by a synthetic method. A common method is to obtain 2-Aminobarbituric acid (2-Aminobarbituric acid) by reacting Barbituric acid (Barbituric acid) with Ethyl methanesulfonate (Ethyl methanesulfonate), and then with Formyl chloride (Formyl chloride). The reaction produces DL-Alpha-Aminocaprylic acid.
Regarding the safety information of DL-Alpha-Aminocaprylic acid, it is considered to be relatively safe as a whole, but some basic laboratory practices are still required when using and storing. It may have a stimulating effect on the skin and eyes, if contact should be promptly rinsed with plenty of water. At the same time, their inhalation and ingestion should be avoided. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as laboratory gloves and goggles during operation. The safety data sheets provided should be read and followed carefully before use.
