Abstract:
Objective to prepare magnesium ascorbate and analyze its purity, composition and content. Methods magnesium ascorbate was prepared by the reaction of ascorbic acid and magnesium carbonate, and its purity was checked by thin layer chromatography, determination of content by titration. Results The prepared magnesium ascorbate was pure, the molar ratio of Mg2 + to ascorbic acid was 1:2, the number of crystal water was n = 4, and the content of the product was basically the same by coordination titration and iodometry. Conclusion the yield of magnesium ascorbate is 65% and the molecular formula is C12 H14 MgO12 · 4H2 O.Key words:
