Introduction	succinimidyl 6-(maleimidyl) hexanoate is a heterobifunctional crosslinking reagent, prolonged interval binding to amine and thiol reactivity. Typically, the initial coupling to the molecule containing the primary amine is through an amide bond buffered at pH 7.5 (6.5-8.5), the second coupling is through a pH 6.8 buffered thioether linkage to a molecule containing a free thiol group (6.5-7.0).
Application	6-(maleimidyl) hexanoic acid succinimide ester can be used for the preparation of enzyme immune coupling agent and hapten carrier molecular coupling agent. Contains a linker of 9 atoms. The extended fatty spacer stabilizes the maleimide prior to coupling compared to the aromatic spacer.
biological activity	6-maleimidoexanoic acid N-hydroxysuccinimide ester (EMCS) is a heterobifunctional cross-linker. EMCS is a unique and useful reagent for the preparation of hapten conjugates and enzyme immunoconjugates.
