Application | N-acetyl-L-isoleucine is the acetylation product of L-isoleucine. It can be prepared by one-step reaction of L-isoleucine and acetic anhydride. N-acetyl amino acid is an important fine organic chemical intermediate, widely used in medicine, pesticide, chemical industry and other fields. |
preparation | mixing isoleucine (15g,114mmol) and acetic anhydride (31g,304mmol) in methanol (50ml) in a 250ml round bottom flask to obtain a white suspension. After reflux stirring for 5.5 hours, the reaction mixture is concentrated under reduced pressure. Recrystallization from ethanol gives 13.3g of white crystals. |
