N-Boc-2-hydroxy-2-phenylethylaMine - Introduction
N-Boc-2-hydroxy-2-phenylethylamine(N-Boc-2-hydroxy-2-phenylethylamine) is an organic compound whose molecular formula is C13H19NO3. The following is an introduction to its nature, use, preparation and safety information:
Nature:
-Appearance: Colorless to light yellow solid
-Melting point: about 70-75 degrees Celsius
-Solubility: Soluble in polar organic solvents (such as alcohols, ethers), slightly soluble in non-polar solvents (such as alkanes)
-Chemical properties: N-Boc-2-hydroxy-2-phenylethylamine is a compound that protects the amino group. The main feature is the Boc protecting group on its hydroxyl group and amino group, which can be removed under specific conditions
Use:
- N-Boc-2-hydroxy-2-phenylethylamine are often used as substrates or intermediates in organic synthesis. By removing the Boc protecting group, free 2-phenyl-2-hydroxyethylamine can be obtained, which can be used as a raw material for the synthesis of other compounds
-In drug development, N-Boc-2-hydroxy-2-phenylethylamine can be used to synthesize amine drugs or chemicals
Preparation Method:
Generally, the preparation method of N-Boc-2-hydroxy-2-phenylethylamine is as follows:
1.2-phenyl -2-hydroxy ethyl amine is reacted with dimethylformamide (DMF) to generate the product.
2. Add sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to the product to adjust the pH value.
3. Add tert-butyl carbonate (tBuOCO2H) and dimethylformamide methanol solution (DMF/MeOH).
4. DMF and methanol in the reaction solution were removed to give a N-Boc-2-hydroxy-2-phenylethylamine.
Safety Information:
- N-Boc-2-hydroxy-2-phenylethylamine may be irritating to the eyes and skin, so pay attention to avoid direct contact when using it. If exposed, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention.
-Observe laboratory safety practices and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e. g. gloves, goggles) when using or disposing.
-Store away from fire and oxidant and keep it tightly closed. Avoid contact with oxygen and moisture to prevent decomposition. The storage temperature is preferably less than 25 degrees Celsius.
