In a reaction bottle with a stirrer, reflux condenser, and thermometer, 18g(0.1mol) of acetanilide is suspended in 120ml of toluene. The stirrer is started, 14.2g(0.105mol) of thionyl chloride is added dropwise at the liquid temperature of about 20 ℃, the reaction temperature is controlled to be 25-30 ℃, the dropwise addition is completed in half an hour, and the heat preservation reaction is continued for 2.5h to obtain toluene suspension of α-chloroacetanilide, which is desolted and refined to obtain the finished product.
