N-Z-D-Leucinol - Introduction
N-Z-D-Leucinol, also known as (S)-2-amino-1-propanol, is an organic compound. It is a colorless liquid with a strong ammonia odor. Its chemical formula is C3H9NO and its molar mass is about 75.11g/mol.
N-Z-D-Leucinol is mainly used for the preparation of nitrogen-containing compounds, pharmaceutical intermediates and the resolution of amides and other chemical reactions. It is commonly used in the field of drug synthesis for the preparation of β-receptor blockers, hemostatic agents and other drugs. In addition, N-Z-D-Leucinol can also be used as a surfactant, an agent for reducing surface tension, and the like.
A common method of preparing N-Z-D-Leucinol is by hydrolysis of glycine. Specifically, glycine can be reacted with a strong base (e. G., potassium hydroxide) to give N-Z-D-leucine, and then the N-Z-D-leucine can be reduced to N-Z-D-Leucinol by a reduction reaction.
Need to pay attention to safety matters when using the N-Z-D-Leucinol. It is irritating and contact with the skin and eyes can cause irritation and burns. Therefore, appropriate protective gloves, goggles and protective clothing should be worn when handling the compound. In addition, avoid inhaling its vapor and dust, and maintain a well-ventilated working environment. In case of contact or inhalation, rinse immediately with water and seek medical help. During storage and transportation, avoid contact with oxidants and strong acids, and keep away from open flames and high temperatures.
