This product is colorless or yellowish transparent liquid, slightly amine odor, soluble in water, alcohol and ether and other organic solvents, can absorb moisture and carbon dioxide in the air.
There are two production routes currently used.
This product is an efficient catalyst for the reaction of polyurethane formation, and has strong selectivity for the reaction of isocyanate with water. It is characterized by small amount and high catalytic activity, and can be used as the main catalyst of soft polyurethane foam and the auxiliary catalyst of semi-rigid and rigid polyurethane foam. In addition, it can also be used as a catalyst for the polymerization of olefin oxide, phase transfer and metal complexes. The compound form of this product, commonly known as AM-I, of which the content of pentamethyldiethylenetriamine is 70%± 1%. Its characteristic is to improve the tolerance of the formula processing, improve the foaming process performance and product quality.
slightly toxic. For skin contact, rinse with tap water. Packed in a clean galvanized iron drum with a net weight of 15 0kg per barrel. It shall be stored in a dry and ventilated warehouse below 40 ℃, and shall not be stacked in the open air.

introduction | pentamethyldiethylenetriamine is colorless to light yellow transparent liquid, easily soluble in water, is a highly active catalyst for polyurethane reaction, mainly catalyzes foaming reaction, is also used to balance overall foaming and gel reaction, and is widely used in various polyurethane rigid foams, including polyisocyanurate plate rigid foams. The production methods of pentamethyldiethylenetriamine include formaldehyde formic acid method and formaldehyde hydrogenation method. |
preparation | 99.5% diethylenetriamine is added into the high-pressure reactor, 5wt% Pd/C catalyst is added into the high-pressure reactor, and the amount of catalyst added accounts for 0.5wt% of the diethylenetriamine feed. After replacing the reaction kettle with nitrogen and hydrogen, the reaction kettle is filled with hydrogen to maintain 3MPa, stirred strongly, the materials in the reaction kettle are heated and maintained to 130 ℃, then formaldehyde solution with 37% content is added dropwise, and the molar ratio of formaldehyde dosage to diethylenetriamine dosage is 5.5: 1. Formaldehyde dripping time is controlled at 5 hours. After stopping hydrogen absorption, keep it for 10 minutes, cool down to 50 ℃, release the pressure and replace it, filter the reaction liquid in the kettle, and flush the solid catalyst into the reaction kettle through backwashing operation to continue to be used for the next batch of hydrogenation reaction. The main components of the filtrate are pentamethyldiethylenetriamine and water. The filtrate sample was taken for gas chromatography analysis, and the content of pentamethyldiethylenetriamine was 98.32wt%. Using the same batch of catalysts and repeating the same operation five times, the contents of pentamethyldiethylenetriamine are 98.26wt%, 97.83wt%, 98.11wt%, 97.24wt% and 97.82wt% respectively. |
Use | Used as a high-efficiency catalyst for polyurethane soft foam Mainly used for sulfonylurea herbicides, pesticides, and pharmaceutical chemical synthesis Important raw material intermediates, it is also a high-quality acylating agent in the chemical industry such as polyamide, chemical cryogen, liquid crystal, etc. A high-efficiency tertiary amine catalyst The ligand of neopentyl lithium complexation was studied by NMR, and the ligand effect of CO2 interacting with α,ω-diyne was studied. N,N,N',N'',N''-pentamethyldiethylenetriamine catalyst is a highly active tertiary amine catalyst. Due to its unique amino nitrogen space shielding interaction, its alkaline characteristics can more effectively catalyze the reaction between water and isocyanate. Therefore, N,N,N',N'',N''-pentamethyldiethylenetriamine is an excellent foaming catalyst for rigid foam and soft foam, therefore, it is often shared with DMCHA and others. N,N,N',N'',N''-pentamethyldiethylenetriamine is also used to balance the overall foaming and gel reaction. |
