polyester polyol is an important raw material for the synthesis of polyurethane. it acts as a flexible soft segment in the synthesis of polyurethane, while isocyanate and small molecule chain extender form the hard segment part of polyurethane. Because polyester polyol will affect the polarity of soft segment and the aggregation structure of soft and hard state of polyurethane elastomer molecules, the type, structure and number average molecular weight of polyester polyol have great influence on the performance of polyurethane.
Preparation
Polyester polyol is the basic raw material of polyurethane materials. It is usually formed by condensation of dibasic acid and polyol. The dibasic acid can be aliphatic dibasic acid or aromatic dibasic acid. Adipic acid polyester polyols were prepared from adipic acid. The production methods of polyester polyol include vacuum dehydration and high temperature nitrogen dehydration. Vacuum dehydration method, that is, under vacuum conditions with acetate as a catalyst, dibasic acid and diol for polycondensation reaction, synthesis of a certain molecular weight of polyester polyol. The high temperature nitrogen dehydration method is to synthesize polyester polyol at high temperature under the protection of nitrogen. In actual production, people are more accustomed to using vacuum dehydration method, and more research has been done on this method. Selection of adipic acid and ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol reaction synthesis of poly adipic acid ethylene glycol diethylene glycol (PED) as the research system.
