Reneilmol - Introduction
Reneilmol (propylene glycol dipropyl ether) is a colorless liquid with low volatility and a slight sweetness. Its chemical formula is C6H14O3 and its molecular weight is 134.17g/mol.
Reneilmol is commonly used as a solvent in organic synthesis. It has good solubility and can dissolve many organic compounds. Due to its low toxicity and relatively low volatility, Reneilmol is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, pesticide and coating industries.
The common method for preparing Reneilmol is to obtain an ester product through the esterification reaction of methanol and propylene glycol, then protonate it through a sulfuric acid catalyst, and finally obtain the target product propylene glycol dipropyl ether through a dehydration reaction.
