In vitro study | D-Erythro-dihydrosphingosine (D-erythro-DHS) significantly inhibits mastoparan-, but not Na 3 VO 4 -, stimulated arachidonic acid release in PC12 cells. D-Erythro-dihydrosphingosine at 100 AM slightly inhibits [ 3 H]Arachidonic acid release, and 5 μM Ionomycin alone stimulates the release significantly. In the presence of 5 μM Ionomycin, 100 μM C2-ceramide stimulates the release, but D-Erythro-dihydrosphingosine (100 μM) inhibits the release. D-Erythro-dihydrosphingosine inhibits arachidonic acid release in cells and/or cPLA 2 α activity. |
