| Physical and Chemical Properties | Bioactive Selamectin, a semi-synthetic macrolide, is an antiparasitic and insect repellent. Selamectin activates glutamate-gated chloride channels in neurons and pharyngeal muscles (glutamate-gatedchl oridechannels) to prevent filariasis, lymphatic filariasis, and nematode infections. Selamectin is also a potent P-glycoprotein (P-glycoprotein) substrate and inhibitor with an IC50 of 120nM. |
