TRIS(DIMETHYLSILOXY)ETHOXYSILANE - Risk and Safety
TRIS(DIMETHYLSILOXY)ETHOXYSILANE - Introduction
Tris (dimethylsilyl) ethyl orthosilicate, also known as tris(dimethylsilyl) ethyl orthosilicate, abbreviated as TDMSEO, is an organosilicon compound. Its chemical formula is (C2H5O)3Si(CH3)2Si(Si(CH3)2OC2H5)3.
Nature:
TDMSEO is a colorless or slightly yellow liquid with low viscosity and low volatility. It is soluble in alcohols, ethers and hydrocarbon solvents, but insoluble in water.
Use:
TDMSEO is mainly used for synthetic silicone materials, such as silicone, silicone rubber, silicone, etc. It can be used as a crosslinking agent and a hardener for the preparation of high-strength silicone polymers. In addition, TDMSEO is also commonly used in the preparation of surface coatings, electronic materials and optical glass.
Preparation Method:
TDMSEO can be prepared by the reaction of dimethylsiloxane and ethylchlorosilane under alkaline conditions. The specific synthesis method can be optimized according to the needs and experimental conditions.
Safety Information:
TDMSEO is a low-toxicity compound under general conditions of use. However, as a chemical, certain safety procedures should still be followed. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes, avoid inhaling its vapor or mist. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as goggles, gloves and protective clothing. Reactions with oxidants and strong acids should be avoided during storage and handling. It is recommended to operate in a well-ventilated area and ensure that emergency treatment devices and corresponding first aid measures are available.
