In vitro study | Fourteen consecutive days of tubercidin treatment had a highly toxic effect on both CFU-GM and BFU-E. The IC50 of tubercidin was 3.4±1.7 and 3.7±0.2 nM in CFU-GM and BFU-E, respectively. In vitro experiments, Tubercidin has a concentration-dependent inhibitory effect on myeloid and erythroid human bone marrow cells. |
In vivo study | Daily injections of 5 mg/kg of tubercidin to mice for 4 consecutive days will kill the mice. Some studies have suggested that deaths caused by tubercidin may be due to damage to the liver and kidneys, or, very slightly, to the pancreas. Co-injection of tubercidin and NBMPR-P protected the mice from death. |
