| production method | 1. Reaction of acetophenone and ethyl acetate 6g of sodium ethoxide were added to 20g of ethyl acetate under cooling, and after 15min, 10g of acetophenone were added. When the benzoylacetone started to precipitate, a small amount of anhydrous diethyl ether was added, filtered after 4H, washed with diethyl ether and dried. It was then dissolved in water and acidified with acetic acid to isolate 10g of benzoylacetone. 2. Reaction of acetophenone with acetic anhydride 20g of acetophenone and 34g of acetic anhydride were added with cooling sodium acetate (45g of sodium acetate in 100ml of water). This was then saturated with boron trifluoride. By steam distillation, an oily substance was initially formed, and after cooling, crystals were precipitated, extracted with diethyl ether, dried, and then distilled to obtain 22.5g of the product. 3. Reaction of benzoyl chloride with ethyl acetoacetate in the solvent diethyl ether, benzoyl chloride was reacted with sodium acetoacetate to obtain ethyl benzoyl acetoacetate, refluxed with water for 5 hours, and distilled with steam to obtain benzoyl acetone. |
