Preparation Method:
The preparation method of 2-Bromo-4-methoxypyridine can be carried out by the following steps:
1. Methylpyridine is treated as 2,1-dichloromethylpyridine.
2. In the presence of hydrofluoric acid, 2-bromo -4-chloromethylpyridine is prepared by bromo -2,1-dichloromethylpyridine.
3. Reaction of sodium hydroxide with nitrous acid to replace chlorine atom with hydroxyl group to obtain 2-bromo-4-hydroxymethylpyridine.
4. Finally, 2-Bromo-4-methoxypyridine was prepared by reacting methyl iodide to replace the hydroxyl group with methoxy group.
