isobutyldichlorosilane - Introduction
Isoshutyldichlorosilane is an organosilicon compound with the formula (CH3)2 CHClSiH2Cl, also known as TMDS.
Nature:
1. Appearance: colorless liquid
2. Boiling Point: about 85-90 ° C
3. Density: 0.94g/cm³
4. Insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents such as alcohol, ether
5. Combustible, able to burn in case of open flame
Use:
1. TMDS can be used as a raw material for silicone materials and plays an important role in the preparation of polysilazanes and silicon-modified polymers.
2. Due to the activity of silicon-hydrogen bond in TMDS, it can be used as a reducing agent for organic synthesis reactions, especially as a catalyst in the catalytic hydrogenation reaction.
Method:
Generally, TMDS can be prepared by the reaction of Vinyltrichlorosilane (CH2 = CHSiCl3) and isobutyl borate (i-C4H9BCl2(OEt)) in the presence of a nickel oxide catalyst.
Safety Information:
1. TMDS is a flammable liquid and should be avoided in contact with open flames and high-temperature open fires.
2. When using, pay attention to avoid contact with skin and eyes, and ensure that the operation is in a well-ventilated place.
3. If accidental contact, should immediately rinse with plenty of water, and immediately seek medical attention.
4. When storing and handling TMDS, keep away from ignition and oxidizing agents and follow chemical safety practices.
