Abstract:
1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([AMIM]Ac) as reaction medium, 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTA), sodium chloroacetate, the cationic carboxymethyl hydroxypropyl guar gum (CCMHPG) was prepared by a novel one-step method using propylene oxide as modifier. The effects of the amount of three modifiers, the amount of alkali, reaction temperature and reaction time on the degree of substitution and viscosity of the product were studied, and the optimum preparation conditions were determined. The cationic substitution degree of the reaction product was 0.24, The carboxymethyl substitution degree was 0.41, the hydroxypropyl substitution degree was 0.36, the water solubility of the product was good, and the viscosity of 1% aqueous solution was 1 072 mPa · s. The infrared spectra and ~ 1H NMR spectra of CCMHPG showed that quaternary ammonium groups, carboxymethyl groups and hydroxypropyl groups were successfully grafted onto guar gum molecules. The electron microscope images showed that the particle surface had wrinkles and flaky cracks. The CCMHPG/PAC binary particle system was used for deinked waste paper pulp. When the addition amount of PAC was 0.8%, and the addition amount of CCMHPG was 0.04%, the retention rate was 94.3%, and the freeness was 43 ° SR.
