function | lauryl Betaine has anti-tumor, lower blood pressure, anti-peptic ulcer and gastrointestinal dysfunction, treatment of liver disease, it can also be used as a feed additive with the function of providing methyl donor, which can save part of methionine. |
preparation | to a 0.5 liter glass reactor equipped with a turbine stirrer was added 4.2g (0105 mol) of sodium hydroxide, the stirrer contained a mixture of 29.4g (0.1 mol) of N-dodecyl N, N-dimethyl N-(2-hydroxyethyl) ammonium chloride and 225 of water. Subsequently, 2.5 g of Pt/Bi/C catalyst with a solids content of 38.2% was added to the solution (see Note for example 1 except Degussa). By this method, a solution having an ammonium chloride concentration of 11.1 wt%, a molar ratio of ammonium compound to Platinum of 156, and a pH of 12.8 was obtained. The reaction mixture is contacted with oxygen, which enters the gas phase of the reactor through a gas burette by effective stirring. The reaction temperature was maintained between 25 and 45°C. The oxygen concentration was maintained below 100 ppm. After 19 minutes, the oxygen consumption was almost stopped and the reaction was terminated. The reaction solution was separated from the catalyst by filtering the candle, and the solution was freeze-dried. 13C-NMR analysis of the product showed 95% conversion of N-dodecyl-N,N-dimethyl N-(2-hydroxyethyl) ammonium chloride and 93% yield of N-dodecyl betaine. |
